Why a cloud on seedbox?
A personal cloud means storing your files on your own server rather than on Google, Apple, or Microsoft servers. Your data stays under your control, on your seedbox USeed, accessible from any device.
The difference is simple: no extra subscription, no arbitrary limits, no ad profiling. Your storage space depends on your USeed plan, not a free tier capped at 15 GB.
On your seedbox, all storage solutions share the same disk space. Whether you use Nextcloud, Resilio, the web file manager, or SFTP access, you're accessing the same files. No need to duplicate your data: every application sees the same file system.
Nextcloud on USeed
Nextcloud is the most complete solution to turn your seedbox into a private cloud. File synchronization, calendar, contacts, link sharing: the equivalent of Google Drive, but on your server.
Automatic sync
Install the Nextcloud desktop client (Windows, macOS, Linux) and your folders sync automatically with your seedbox. On mobile, the Nextcloud app backs up your photos and videos on the fly.
Link sharing
Generate a share link for any file or folder, with password and expiration date. Ideal for sharing large files with external people.
Calendar and contacts
Nextcloud includes a calendar (CalDAV) and a contacts manager (CardDAV). Sync them with your phone and native apps.
Mobile apps
Nextcloud offers iOS and Android apps to access your files, upload photos, and manage shares from your mobile.
Sync your files across devices
Sync keeps your files up to date between your seedbox and your devices. Three approaches depending on your needs:
Nextcloud Sync
Continuous, automatic sync via the desktop client or mobile app. Your local folders stay identical to your seedbox. Ideal for transparent daily use.
Resilio Sync
Direct P2P sync between devices, no intermediary server. Ultra-fast for large files. Ideal for replicating large volumes across multiple machines.
Rsync
Incremental command-line sync. Only transfers modified file parts. Less automatic than Nextcloud or Resilio, but extremely efficient for scheduled backups via cron.
Regardless of the method, your files stay on the same disk space. What you sync with Nextcloud is accessible via Resilio, SFTP, or the web file manager. One storage, multiple ways to access it.
